PMWGA STANDING RULES
1. New members may join without an Arizona Handicap Network (AZHN) handicap. However, they must submit scorecards from 5 rounds of golf played at the the Painted Mountain Golf Course as soon as possible. If new members want to participate in the Play of the Day Games, they must have an established handicap.
2. USGA Rules govern all play.
3. PMWGA will play golf every Friday, January thru May and
October thru December with a shotgun start.
4. For eligibility to play in tournaments, a player must have a current AZHN handicap and have played 5 PMWGA League days during the 12 months prior to the tournament. The 5 games cannot include tournament play.
5. Score cards must be posted every time a member plays
an 18-hole round of golf, regardless of where or with whom
the round was played.
6. All putts must be holed out.
7. A sign-up roster will be available each league day for future league play.
8. If a member did not sign the roster for league play and wants to play, they need to call the Pairings Chairperson by 10:00AM on the Wednesday prior to Friday play.
9. To cancel league play, call the Pairings Chairperson no later than 5:00PM on the Wednesday prior to Friday play or as soon as the player knows they are unable to play.
10. PMWGA plays to a maximum 40 handicap.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. EAGLES, BIRDIES, & GOBBLES: Individual cards
are available to record eagles, birdies, and gobbles made during
play on Fridays. Competition begins the first Friday of play in January and ends
on the first week of play in December. Ball Markers are awarded
for eagles and/or birdies.
A golf ball is given for a gobble or "chip in". Winners are awarded monthly at the general membership meeting.
2. CAGD BLIND DRAW: Blind Draw is played in five pre-selected months within the league year; usually the first Friday of the selected month. Blind Draw is administered by the Central Arizona Golf District (CAGD) Representative. There is a $1.00 entry fee and all participation is strictly voluntary. Ask your CAGD Representative for additional information.

joining PMWGA after October 15th will pay a reduced membership fee
for the remainder of the year.
4. GUESTS: Guests are welcome, but can’t compete
for prizes and are limited to 3 rounds of golf at the Southwest PGA Golf Pass rate plus tax.
5. HANDICAPPING: As per USGA, a handicap is based on
the lowest 10 scores of the last 20 games played on an 18-hole
regulation golf course.
6. SCORE CARDS: The Handicap Committee
is responsible for accurately posting scores in the Handicap Data Base after league play.
Scores must be posted for every league play day. The handicap
card must show the Gross Score, Handicap, and "Adjusted

minutes. Do not leave bags, pull carts, or electric carts
in front of the green. Leave clubs on the side of the
green closest to the next tee. Be ready to putt when it’s

leave the green. Wait until arriving at the next tee to
write down the scores. DO NOT leave cell phones on during league play.
